Elements of a copyright notice

A copyright owner or authorized agent generally should prepare:

Review of an actually received notice

A notice that is actually received through an effective method may require clarification if it is incomplete. Where appropriate, access to specifically identified material may be restricted and relevant information may be passed to the provider or affected party.

Counter-notice

A person affected by a mistaken or misidentified restriction may prepare a counter-notice identifying the material and its former location, stating under penalty of perjury a good-faith belief that the action resulted from mistake or misidentification, providing contact details, consenting to jurisdiction as required by applicable law, and supplying a signature. A counter-notice must also use a legally effective delivery method; neither demo form sends it.

Repeat infringement and false statements
